The Seiko series SLT109P1 is one the complication watch. It is a classic and bold watch with quartz movement. The map meter/mile marker function measures the real distance of a route on a map by tracing the route with the wheel that drives the dial ring. This watch is designed to measure the real distance by using a map of a scale 1/50,000 with kilometer readout. The map meter scale is indicated at 9 o’clock in red color. This Seiko is with Perpetual Calendar. Once set, the calendar automatically adjusts for odd and even months including February of leap years up to February 28, 2100. When you travel abroad, the time and date of the place you visit can easily be shown on the watch. By using the 24-hour hand and rotating bezel, the times of 22 cities in different time zones throughout the world can be read from the dial.

The dial is beautifully executed, and actually consists of two layers with many subtle details. A neat and clean date window at 3 o’clock position. It is an analog watch with four hands. A 24 hour hand is represented by red hand. Hour and minute hand is white and lumibrite. Circular bezel is bidirectional and nicely engraved with compass directions and numerals in black. The case and bracelet is stainless steel. The crown at 9 o’clock is to measure the actual distance on the map by turning the crown. The crown is treated as driving wheel. If you loosen the screw turned in a convenient card meter which allows you to measure distances in miles on a map. The inner ring of the dial “run along” if you use the card and meter so you can easily read the distance on the dial. When the second hand starts moving at two-second intervals instead of the normal one-second interval, replace the battery with a new one as soon as possible. The hour display can be in increments of one hour adjust this watch is very handy if you travel and you must watch to fit on a different time zone. This Seiko has a diameter of 42mm, with a screwed steel back and water resistance of 200 meters. The glass makes the sporty hardlex karate of this clock off.
