Seiko premier automatic SPB005J1 watch is a new collection of Seiko watches with the newest Seiko automatic movement 6R20. This mechanical watch operates using power obtained from a mainspring. This new Seiko 2006 Premier high grade caliber is designed to place the SEIKO firmly in the high quality mechanical market. This watch is an automatic watch equipped with a manual winding mechanism. The movement is exquisitely finished with an engraved rotor, polished edges to the bridges and hairline shading on the main surfaces. The watch design speaks of classical architecture, with the sculpted edges to the bracelet links and the column motif on the side of the case, expressing the strength, integrity and durability of Premier. This classicism is subtly re-interpreted with the modern touch that is unique to Premier, resulting in a design that is a modern expression of classical inspiration.
SPB005J1 has 14 mm approximate case thickness, 47mm approximate case diameter including crown. It has Engraved rotor & hand winding capability. It is made up with 208 parts. Power reserve indicator feature of this watch is also good. It features day and date hands. The high beat (28,800) movement of this watch delivers accuracy of -15~+25 seconds a day. This watch has a black dial with roman numerals and comes on a black leather strap. This is a big, impressive watch (42mm diameter) with a great deal of ‘wrist presence’ Case finish and detailing are top-notch. The case front, back and crown are polished stainless steel, whilst the sides of the case have a brushed finish. The sides of the case have an ‘architectural’ detailing, with ‘pillars’ being set into the side of the case, which look great, but are also truly great at accumulating dust and fluff. At the front and back of the watch are sapphire crystals. The front crystal is large and flat and has no anti-reflective coating, yet strangely reflections are less of a problem than with other watches I own that have domed crystals. The crown is a good size, simple, polished and unsigned, set into a nicely detailed crown protector. The dial of this watch is built up out of multiple layers with different materials and finishes.
