Citizen makes great diver watches. There is no doubt about this fact. The Aqualand series has been one of the most popular diver’s watch series of all time. Its been more than 20 years since the launch of the first Aqualand and it is still going very strong with new models being added frequently. All Aqualand watches have depth meters which tell you (and in many cases even records) the diving depth.
Aqualand watches come in 2 forms: Analog and digital. The analog aqualand series has a separate hand which indicates the depth. In digital Aqualand watches there is a digital display to indicate the depth. Some diver’s prefer the analog versions because it gives an indication of the depth at a glance.
The AL0024 is the smallest Aqualand watch and thats what makes it perfect for ladies divers or divers with a smaller wrist size. The diameter is 38 mm including the crown which is just nice. It measures the depth up to a depth of 55m in increments of 0.1 meters. It features a depth alarm, rapid ascent warning signal and the watch automatically switches to diving mode when it comes in contact with water. This is great since you don’t have to press any buttons to activate the diving mode.
The AL0024 has a solid build with a stainless steel body and back. The crown is screw-down and so is the case back. All this gives it a solid 200m water resistance.
