One problem with the human mind is once it is in love, it forgets everything else. Maybe that’s exaggerating a bit again, but not too much. Take Seiko for an example. Despite its excellent reputation among watch buffs the world over as one of the few true manufactures who build their goods all by themselves, many […]
As one of the leading watchmakers in the world, Seiko’s releases look great and offer amazing functionality. They are environment-protected as usual and endowed with advanced technology behind their functioning. They are designed to make batteries last longer. The Seiko Neo Classics, chronographs and simple quartz watches got certain names that stand out from others […]
What are usually the first names that come to mind as expensive (and super-expensive) watches? Pateks, Lange, AP, J-LC, Rolex, Ulysse Nardin, Franck Muller…the list stretches to quite afar; mostly into the Swiss territories. High-end luxury timepieces spell S-W-I-S-S to a large chunk. Also, P-R-I-C-E-Y! Question remains: “Why?” The nature of the movements is a vital determinant. We know that more or less. Mechanical watches take more labor to make and are more expensive than quartz.
Purchase something on your birthday! It’s not mandatory that you go for a lump-something, but it should commentate the occasion for an extensive period. In simple words, it should last. Purchasing a new timepiece serves the purpose well. Many prefer exotic chronographs that are worth looking at and these do not cost you a fortune. You may consider them over a Patek or a VC or a Lange, for very few would put those super-expensive big names under a real test.
-“With high-priced (and very high-priced) watches, even a relatively well-informed person undergoes a certain dilemma; of what’s been told and what he will get. Choosing an awesome watch thus gets difficult and then, again you come back to reality. So, understand first that different watches have different objectives; so to speak, a watch is intended to be appreciated on its own terms.” Affordable – in its real sense – is simply ‘less expensive’. To some, those two very words add a stigma right away;
A great Mother’s Day idea is something to accompany her year round. Watches fit just right! Mother’s Day is happy time for the fortunate who received motherly love from anyone; not just from the lady who bore you in its literal sense. Or, it could be about anyone whose motherly instincts you admire. It’s about […]
My days as the Watch Gonzo made it almost a habit popping a post or two here every week. It is now hard to avoid a feeling that my posts off-late are turning bit predictable. It is like many among you readers are beginning to know me well enough. That gets you to see how […]
Casio has been belting out real surprises for its Edifice line for quite some time. These refined cousins of their G-Shock lineup made possible wearing tech with your everyday clothes without being blatant about it. That’s what is most likeable about the Edifices and with their EQS line-up; things definitely turn a whole lot rosier. […]
“All in the name of the game.” – Other aspects of the chronograph; a game these watches play very well! Our column wheel versus cam switching discussion could go on; but then, going further downstream into the rest of the chronograph mechanism would have to wait for some more time. Today we learn a bit […]
Buying the chronograph? Get further tips from Gonzo! Our last conversation overlooked the possibility of ana/digi formats, which is certainly disheartening but never intended. It’s just that the limited time and space sometimes boggles your mind. Speaking about that, legibility sometimes becomes an issue. In an effort to make too many things run – no, […]
