Perpetual watches

I have almost always wondered how perpetual calendar watches work. Well, all the digital watches have perpetual calendar as well, but its not the same thing when it comes to mechanical perpetual calendar watches. The charm factor is completely different. Just the fact that the watch can accurately tell the date for well over a hundred years, adjust correctly for leap years, and all this mechanism built in mechanically – its just amazing.
