The success of the famous “Chaton” style design of the Slim Marine series led Casio to use its tough elegant styling as the basis for the new Baby-G series.
Casio Baby-G Shock watch is designed for the modern day cool and confident urban woman. The entire watch is covered in ubber cool neon resin which apart from adding a splash of color to your wardrobe gives the Baby G Shock a bright, bold and beautiful look.
Although aimed at urban women, the Casio Baby-G Shock watch retains all the key features of the famous G-Shock series and these include shock resistance, 100M water resistance, EL Backlight, World Time (48 cities), 5 Daily Alarms, Countdown Timer and 1/100 Second Stopwatch.
Its beauty and features led the Casio Baby-G Shock watch to quickly become a hot favorite amongst female athletes seeking high performance watches that also looked cute.
The BGA111 and BGA112 models of the Casio Baby-G Shock watch are famous because they feature rhinestones and a simple numeric index at the 12 o’clock position on the dial. The BGA110 on the other hand feature an ultra cool resin band to look like metal links and simple numeric indicators around the dial. All models have adopted the Chaton style bezel protectors and feature 100M water resistance.
Last year Casio America, Inc. announced a mutually beneficial collaboration between its Baby-G watch brand and the wildly popular Pastry fashion brand run by Vanessa and Angela Simmons (The daughters of legendary rap artist and pioneer Reverend Run Joseph Simmons of Run-DMC).
Pastry secured an exclusive (and very lucrative deal) to offer the Casio Baby-G Shock watches with the ‘Pastry twist’. Pastry selected the classic BG5601 Baby-G luminous color style Casio Baby-G Shock watch and crafted an exclusive watch by adding their unique touch and packaging that was unmistakably Pastry.
The BG5601 adopts the classic 80’s-inspired luminous colors style. Casio Watch then painted the Pastry’s motto on the watch band, giving it a retro-fresh and urban look. Casio also added its stamp of approval to the chic watch by providing its company’s name in silver script towards the bottom. The watch comes in a one-of-a-kind pink packaging, complete with hearts and stars motif.
At the launch of the Pastry-Casio Baby-G Shock watch, Shigenori Itoh, vice president of Casio’s Timepiece Division said “With the release of the Baby-G Pastry watch, we are offering a unique combination of cutting-edge style with a playful touch of femininity.”
Unfortunately, the Pastry-Casio Baby-G Shock watch cannot be bought – the special edition Baby-G style will be gifted by Pastry to select VIP customers, friends and celebrities.
Not content with the excellent sales of the Casio Baby-G watch, Casio soon introduced the Eco-Baby-G BGR300GR-3 – a solar-powered Baby-G watch also known as the “Go Green Baby-G watch”.
As usual, all the Casio Baby G Shock Watch offers full functionality including tough solar technology that recharges an internal battery by generating electrical power from sunlight. Forget the drab all-metal or dull plastic watches of the past. The new Casio Baby-G watches are bright, vivid-colored accessories considered one of the hottest trends in today’s fashion world.
