SSCVS015 is very popular automatic SEIKO watch in JAPAN.
The SCVS015 is 1MM smaller diameter than its more popular cousin, the SCVS003 and comes supplied with a cordovan OEM strap rather than the metal bracelet of the SCVS003. It has 23 jewels.
It diameter size is 37MM. Lug-size is a common 20MM size. OEM strap is designed for the smaller wrist. It has Sapphire flat crystal without glare-resistant coating makes the dial sometimes too difficult to read in certain lights due to glare. The same makes smudges more noticeable. This watch has see-through back and is made up of Seiko’s “Hardlex” material.
This watch has Stick markers and straight hands without luminosity. The dial of this watch is deep black with framed date-only window at 3 o’clock. Date is white and black and has quick-set capability.
The Movement of this watch is Seiko 6R15, automatic & 23-jewel. There is a Diashock with hand-wind and hacking capability. The watch was started with movement rather than hand-winding, and has not stopped while being worn every other day.
The case of this watch is polished stainless steel. It’s water resistant is rated to 100M. The bezel slopes away from the crystal, perhaps accounting for the one MM difference with the SCVS003 which has a flatter bezel. Crown is proportionally large and signed with the Seiko “S”.
This automatic watch representing good value for the money. IMHO, replacing the OEM strap with a black/white stitching strap or a black carbon fiber strap would enhance the watch’s appearance. A deployant replacing the buckle would add to appearance and function. In the metal bracelet area, several acceptable options exist for this model.
