This G Shock is the reissue of the DW5500 from 1985. In those days it was known as the G-Shock II as it was something of a departure from the standard 5000 series in design. This was the first Casio to have button designed for use in muddy environments. This model is bang up to date with a solar powered movement and a decent ra nge of digital functions. This is a Japan market watch thus quite rare outside of Japan.

The world time mode shows you the current time in 48 cities around the world. The alarm mode of this watch gives you a choice of four one-time alarms and one snooze alarm. This watch also has a countdown timer function. You can set the countdown timer within a range of one to 60 minutes. An alarm sounds when the countdown reaches to zero. The stopwatch function of this watch lets you to measure elapsed time and split time. This watch has an EL panel that causes the entire display to glow for easy reading in the dark. The watch’s auto light switch illuminates the display automatically when you angle the watch towards face. The watch’s built-in full automatic calendar makes allowances for different month lengths and leap years. This watch also has 12/24 hour timekeeping formats.
