With marine blue sunburst dial, affectionately known to watch enthusiasts as the Sawtooth – a reference to its boldly serrated bezel. The Sawtooth is an all new dive watch from the ground up. Design influence is almost exclusively Seiko and the entire better for it. The predominant styling cues are drawn from another Seiko cult classic, the shrouded Professional Diver aka the Tuna Can. The Sawtooth is perhaps the modern day interpretation of the timeless Tuna design – a little sleeker, fewer tools like, more integrated and more suitable for everyday wear compared with the original; and it’s even available in several dial colors! This one here has a magnificent marine blue sunburst dial, decorated with subtle wave texture (a touch of the Seamaster). The dial changes hue depending on the angle and intensity of the light source. The bezel shroud can be detached from the case by undoing 4 allen screws, as per the original. The boldly serrated bezel, a homage to the esoteric Seiko Spring Drive 600m, compliments the dial and case to perfection. To cap it all, the Sawtooth comes fitted with one of the finest stainless steel bracelets in the business. Capable of resisting water pressure to 200 metres in depth, the Sawtooth will undoubtedly be the timepiece of choice of both professional scuba divers and serious amateurs for years to come. The rotating bezel can be rotated counterclockwise to measure the elapsed time up to 60 minutes. It has decent looks with second hand stops right on each mark. This is a very comfortable watch-not too big-not too heavy. The hand and markers shines in the dark- a convenient feature. It is functioning perfectly. This watch looks and feels like it should cost much more than it does. The quality of the finish and the detailing of the dial, hands, markings, lume, and of the case & rotating bezel is flawless. The style is traditional and the legibility is terrific. You can have an excellent tool for everyday use, water sports, something you don’t have to worry about while wrenching on vehicles, etc. It is sleek and the time is very easy to read.
