The watch is in Citizen’s famous Eco-Drive category, meaning that the face containing solar cell. Wearing the watch in daylight keeps the batteries charged for several months. It’s basically a zero-maintenance watches no batteries, no winding, etc. You can’t even tell the face is a solar cell — it appears solid black, even up-close. The styling is both eye-catching and subtle, and you can wear it with almost anything — a shirt and tie, a t-shirt, a swimsuit, etc. Citizen watches are relatively affordable and offer a great deal of reliability for the price. There are no gimmicky diving bezels or anything of the sort. The entire watch’s case is devoted to the large face and the small but still usable circular slide rule. Fueled by light, it never needs a battery. It has a thin silver bezel the houses a black dial with a pilot’s inner rotating slide rule bezel, which is operated by the secondary crown at 8 o’clock. The dial of the Nighthawk is one of the most complex, yet simple and effective. On the left half of the dial is the 24 hour GMT indicator. The fourth hand is a single post with two pointers, a red and a white airplane. The red hours are PM, and the white, AM. As the white hand leaves the AM hours, the red hand picks up the PM hours. This is an extremely cool iteration of the GMT watch, and is functional and stylish simultaneously. Stainless version, and combined with the black face it is a classic look that can be worn with casual or dressy clothing. Date window at 3 o’clock. After full charged it keeps power for 180 days. Case is attached with original citizen black leather band with deployment clasp. The open face clean and clear crystal design with no external bezel and the crystal is “set into” the case of the watch. The watch have a very “mechanical” appearance.
