The recent facelift to the Casio G-Shock Mudman GW9300 Watch has brought it into a different league altogether. In fact, the new features in the Casio G-Shock Mudman Watch bring it closer to the Casino G-Shock Riseman. The Casio G-Shock Mudman Watch appears a deep black color, but look closely; you find it to be dark charcoal grey. Red markings on the watch dial go very well with the charcoal grey color of the watch and the strap. Function buttons are raised and protruding, giving the watch a sturdy look. Indeed the Casio G-Shock Mudman Watch is a picture of durability and strength. It is also shock resistant and the addition of a compass adds to its multi functionality.

The upgraded Casio G-Shock Mudman Watch has a number of useful features. It is solar rechargeable showing the World time for 31 time zones in 48 cities. The G-Shock Mudman watch is shock resistant and water resistant up to a depth of 200m. Buttons of the watch are sealed to prevent dust and dirt from entering into the watch and the full back lighting with afterglow allows you to read the time and other details even in poor light conditions. New and noticeable features include a compass, a thermometer and moon phase display.

If you’re not used to this level of sophistication in a watch, operating the compass and thermometer might take some doing – but not too much. To use the thermometer, the watch must be taken off the wrist so that you get a correct temperature reading without the interference of your body heat. To take a compass reading, the watch must be held horizontally while ascertaining the polarity. The moon phase display might have a novelty value for some, rather than being a useful feature, but it is there, should you need that information. Other functions like the timer, stopwatch and calendar function are pretty much as they would be in any digital watch.

The face of this Casio Watch is extremely clear and legible, making it very easy to read the time, day, date, temperature and the phase of the moon. There is also a sufficient time gap between the readings making them easy to decipher. The full back glow and green display makes it easy to read the time even in the dark.

Given the number of extra features packed in a wristwatch, the Casio G-Shock Mudman is a big watch, chunky in appearance. Although the buttons are large, they are a little hard to press which you might need to get used to. The Casio Mudman is a shade too large for everyday wear, though some people do not find that a hindrance. The big size of the wristwatch tends to knock over things, but it’s great that the watch is shockproof and rugged. The strap at 20mm appears to be small for the watch, given its big size.

The Casio G-Shock Mudman GW9300 may not be for the casual occasion though it is an ideal choice when it comes to adventure outings and action. Extremely rugged with multiple functions and shock resistant, this Casio G-Shock Mudman watch is a must have timepiece for those who love outdoor adventures.
